silk flowers for ‘sup

May.29.2011

‘sup!

we see flowers everywhere, touch the leaves of bright deep color greens and smell the grass from the cars, i shot silk flowers at avi’s apartment last month. contrary to their cool sound work, the band member, avi, peter and eithan were really sweet and nice. 3 have great chemistry together. originally i wish to have a picnic / photo shoot in the botanical garden with friends but it was hard to coordinate. instead this analog diy light show shooting turned out to be the great one – even if i grew so high and almost got seizure. (i am really sensitive to light and patterns)

i was shocked when avi told me we played basketball together last spring in the park. yes, he was right.
i really hope i was not mean to him. he said i was not.

they are playing with ariel pink next week at irving plaza. fun

i fell off from my bicycle and gently hit my head
last winter
since that afternoon i have worn a helmet.
i like to keep it on for a little while when i arrive at work (for 5-10 minutes)
although my friends and coworkers might think it’s odd,
i do so, just because i don’t know
it feels right

i found myself singing loud and feeling great
along with the music
when i saw the police car
right next to me
on the elevated bike lane
the car window was open
ugh— i felt awkward,
and i stopped singing
i forgot the bike light home
and didn’t bring my wallet or ID with me.

instantly i got some lines in my head,
if they asked me any questions,
i would have spoken out my letter to you
from my tonight’s observation,

sir,
(yo-,)

the moon is bright and graceful tonight.
she is going to be full in a couple of days

the man i love will return to me
before the new moon

i will look up every night
until he comes back

and see and learn how fast the time goes by,
and remind myself how wonderful to be,
even if it rains every single day
this coming week,
that’s alright

i am blessed,
thank you
thank you

I am glad they didn’t stop me.

i had never counted days according to the lunar calender until tonight.

a little separation is great in a long run.
we need time and solitude if you like to be yourself.
a little separation from someone you love and you can trust is golden.
i still feel so close to him
we need to grow and develop,
sometimes alone, sometimes together.
to be a whole person, not a half

from england,
he wrote me in his letter

“trust is surrender -
surrender is sacrifice -
sacrifice rejoices,
willingly surrendered,
enlivened by trust,
bound in freedom,
without regard for anything
other than this present moment,

continuously expanding,
yet tiny + still”
